Dr. Daniel T. Willingham earned his B.A. in psychology from Duke University and a PhD in cognitive psychology from Harvard. He is a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia where much of his research has been about the basis of learning and memory. He currently is focused on the application of cognitive psychology to K-12 education and writes a column for American Educator magazine.
